i migrated from mastodon to firefish recently, and now i'm thinking of moving back to mastodon on account of the shit mobile support firefish has. is this possible?

I would imagine the same process works. You might need to turn off the redirect on Mastodon before creating the alias there.

What are you missing with the Firefish pwa? I think it's possible to switch from Firefish to Mastodon if the account is only deactivated and not deleted, but Mastodon doesn't take over the posts when you move.

it's kinda laggy sometimes, and it loses my timeline position a lot of the time when i open a thread/profile

Maybe try some third party native mobile apps. Fire fish supports the mastodon api so you can use any mastodon app with it.

Ah, Unfortunate!. Looks like folks are trying to persuade the developer. Might help to add your voice to the chorus!

maybe it works now? but it was buggy when i tried

@yessikg

#Fedilab is great, a true mobile app that works with Mastodon and most other Federated apps quite well. I've used it with Pixelfed too. Buy the developer a beer too. ;-D
