And I still don't think it's gonna happen at all.

Ok, I'm not arguing whether it will or won't. I'm just pointing out how you're repeatedly accusing people of saying something they didn't. Just like how people accuse you of being pro-Trump when you say things that are anti-Biden or anti-Kamala.

You're conflacting people saying "X won't be done until after the election" with "X will be done after the election." The former isn't a declaration that X will be done, just an assertion that if it is done it won't be until after the election.

On a scale of 1 to balls.

[-] baronvonj@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

Ugh, yeah that one sucked too.

[-] baronvonj@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

I know. But she only said it to that small group at the town hall, and only that one sound clip got blasted out without the rest of it. If it had been reported on honestly it wouldn't have been as damaging.

[-] baronvonj@lemmy.world 24 points 3 days ago

That was such a face slap of sound bite propaganda. From your linked article

Clinton did tell a town hall audience in Columbus, Ohio in March that "we're going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business." But that was part of a longer answer about the need to help blue-collar workers adjust. "We're going to make it clear that we don't want to forget those people," Clinton said. "Those people labored in those mines for generations, losing their health, often losing their lives to turn on our lights and power our factories. Now we've got to move away from coal and all the other fossil fuels, but I don't want to move away from the people who did the best they could to produce the energy that we relied on."

The $30 billion plan she released last fall calls for of increased job training, small-business development, and infrastructure investment, especially in Appalachia. The plan also seeks to safeguard miners' healthcare and pensions.

But years later all I ever hear brought up is that one closing sentence.

That's only for a personal domain that you own and can set the DNS records for. But if you wanted to forward your gmail (or yahoo, or outlook, or whatever other provider that offers a public SMTP server) addresses to your proton mailbox, and be able send emails as those gmail addresses from within your proton mailbox, that's not supported. See here for what the feature looks like in GMail.

[-] baronvonj@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

I'm honestly a bit surprised that Proton doesn't seem to have the send as feature. I was able to find at least 15 posts across their uservoice.com site and their Reddit forum, spanning at least 6 years, with one of the uservoice posts having over 300 votes. I just gathered up all the links and sent it into Proton Mail support. Hopefully having all that thrown at them in one big bundle will prompt their project managers to consider it.

I think every time Trump or Vance says they're seeing reports from people about this, reporters should ask if Vance fucked a couch (and don't sanitize it for broadcast literally ask "Did Senator Vance fuck a couch?") because of how many reports they are seeing from people.

And then doubled down when fact checked.

We found the Haitian!

The way he paused before saying "the Jewish people" I'm convinced he had to brace himself to not sneer out "the Jews" instead.

Lately when I forced to login to FaceBook they will sent a WhatsApp message to my phone number, even though I don't use WhatsApp. I'd like to see if there is really an account with my number. I tried going to the web client but it seems to be requiring to pair with a device app.

Up to one in four patients who are unresponsive after suffering serious brain injuries might actually still be conscious – indicating more patients may be aware of their surroundings than previously realized, new research suggests.

This state of 'hidden consciousness' is now officially known as cognitive motor dissociation (CMD), where cognitive (or thinking) abilities aren't connected to motor (or movement) abilities. Researchers have been looking into CMD for several years.

However, 62 percent of an additional 112 patients who were visibly responding to instructions at the bedside didn't exhibit the expected brain signals showing responsiveness – so the researchers suggest their methods still don't detect everyone with cognitive function.

The PRS SE NF3 is a distinct guitar in the PRS lineup. The heart of this guitar is a trio of PRS Narrowfield pickups, a first for the SE Series. Supporting these pickups is a poplar body, 22-fret bolt-on maple neck, and the choice of either a rosewood or maple fretboard. The SE NF3 is a versatile workhorse guitar that is fun to play and hard to put down. The Narrowfield DD (Deep Dish) “S” pickups are made with taller bobbins to fit more winds and extra metal pieces in between the magnets for a more focused, powerful tone.

Keeley has dropped 3 new pedals following on the Noble Screamer design, allowing you to mix and match the gain and tone stacks from two other pedals, all at $199.

When I switch between logged in accounts, I have to manually refresh the feed tab/view to reflect the account switch. I would prefer the reload be done automatically, an option to allow users to specify this behavior would be ideal.

I have a TP-Link Deco X55 Pro Mesh home Wifi, and it offers an isloated Guest Wifi network. There is a single DHCP pool for both the main and guest networks, so the DNS servers set in DHCP have to be reachable from both the main and guest networks. If I simply connect the Pi to my main network, and set DHCP to use its IP as primary and 1.1.1.1 as secondary, then I have to go and disable all the secure DNS settings in Chrome and Firefox and Android or they all ignore my local Pi DNS and use 1.1.1.1. The guest network is wifi only, so I configured the Pi's wpa_supplicant to connect to the guest wifi SSID. The wlan is connected, but it's only reachable from devices on the main network (which it should not be), and not by other devices on the guest network (which it should be). All devices on the main network can reach the wired lan interface just fine, as the should.

I'm a bit confused about the state of wlan configuration though:

baron@pi-1:~ $ sudo wpa_cli status verbose
Selected interface 'p2p-dev-wlan0'
wpa_state=DISCONNECTED
p2p_device_address=da:3a:dd:c3:02:e0
address=da:3a:dd:c3:02:e0
uuid=ec1c452b-43b7-5991-b133-24ebb761a051
baron@pi-1:~ $ ifconfig wlan0
wlan0: flags=4163  mtu 1500
        inet 192.168.68.76  netmask 255.255.252.0  broadcast 192.168.71.255
        inet6 fe80::27a:d770:dd35:568f  prefixlen 64  scopeid 0x20
        ether d8:3a:dd:c3:02:e0  txqueuelen 1000  (Ethernet)
        RX packets 138327  bytes 10181404 (9.7 MiB)
        RX errors 0  dropped 0  overruns 0  frame 0
        TX packets 1782  bytes 310865 (303.5 KiB)
        TX errors 0  dropped 0 overruns 0  carrier 0  collisions 0

So even though my /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf only has the SSID and PSK for the guest network, I can't actually confirm it via wpa_cli.

As seen in the screenshot, there's a lot of wasted space in landscape mode on my tablet. I don't see this issue in the feed. I've only noticed it when viewing it editing posts and comments.
