Remember, it's only testing. Times don't mean much until the last session of the last day when they.just go for it. If your team goes slow, they're sandbaging. Good luck.

Consistent good times are also an indicator if done on the same run

I misunderstood your question and I did not understand the testing format, mate. Sorry about that. Check this out: https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/who-is-driving-in-f1-bahrain-pre-season-test-2024/

[-] Sentau@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 9 months ago

Yeah I think there is a misunderstanding. I know that the full time drivers will be the one driving. Usually there is a list on the f1 site of which driver drives in which session as only one car is allowed per team. There wasn't one on the site yet so the question

[-] 4am@lemm.ee 6 points 9 months ago

Did I miss anything? Did everyone forget and return to reddit during silly season?

[-] Sentau@discuss.tchncs.de 14 points 9 months ago

There were posts for car launches and all the drama. You have to remember that this is a smaller community so if only 10℅ of people remain active during off season, the number of active people is low.

Only for the Hamilton discussion.

Are they streaming this year's testing? Or still being dumb?

E. Nvm I found a stream.

[-] cum_hoc@lemmy.world 5 points 9 months ago

So is that 1m31.344 from Verstappen ominous or it's just preseason testing and times don't matter?

[-] florge@feddit.uk 5 points 9 months ago

Mainly the later, no one else was really putting on soft tyres for a quick lap at the end.

[-] cum_hoc@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago

I was under the impression that it was set on the medium (C3). Is that not the case?

[-] june@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

You’re correct.

This I either no one else pushing, or an ominous sign of what’s to come this year.

It’s worth noting Max topped the charts in preseason as well though. And we all know Max doesn’t like being anywhere but the top.

[-] CataclysmZA@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago

Mostly doesn't matter because it's a light fuel run later in the day after track evolution, and other light fuel runs from McLaren and Ferrari had similar performances to the RB20.

There's still hope.

[-] Bademantel@feddit.de 4 points 9 months ago

I'm unironically exited about this!

Thank you, typoman. I wrote exited. But I think you mean excited.

Woo! Season is getting close. Looking forward to seeing these new cars on track.

[-] Microw@lemm.ee 3 points 9 months ago

Any word on why Albon only did 40 laps so far?

Really liking Williams' orange rear wing.
