You can install the Nightly builds from the F-Droid Repo if you are greedy for updates, keep in mind they may be more unstable.
on the GitHub I can't see any forks of it (https://github.com/Bazsalanszky/Eternity I think is the right one?)
it does allow PRs but none have ever been submitted apparently. it needs more attention :(
I'm pretty sure the git is hosted on codeberg, so I'd check that
There are a bunch of forks. Not sure if any are popular or anything.
None of them have recent updates.
That's usually what happens with FOSS. The problem as I see it is that the dev doesn't have time to update the app and there's almost no one stepping up to hel fix longstanding issues. I'm pretty sure the dev will be more than happy to see people submitting PRs to fix some issues with the app :)
It's actually very functional with a few minor bugs. It doesn't really need updates.
What features are you thinking of? I, personally, can't see anyone's posts when clicking on their username and it's really annoying. Already thought of looking into the source to see if there's an easy fix.
Notifications to replies are entirely broken for me. I wouldn't call the app done
The latest commit on codeberg is literally from yesterday. What more do you want?
All latest commits are mainly translation updates. If you ignore those it feels like there is no more commits. Or I am not looking where I should?
Latest commit sure, but no actual new publication/release
Eternity felt a lot like Thunder to me with less options (at the time). Maybe try that? Only thing I didn't like was no mark on read when scrolling, so I made a PR a few days ago for it.
dev said he'll start developing the app again. New version is on the works
