i had a samsung phone, completely dog shit and unreliable, i bought a pocophone from xaiomi for the same price, and it is one heck of a phone, miui kinds sucks, but the specs on this thing is nuts.
Is the camera sucky too? That's usually the problem with budget phones, I have a Xiaomi Mi 9T and it's great for the price, but the camera is shitty.
It's bothering me because I would like to be able to take nice photos anytime without having to carry a bulky DSLR everywhere.
i use a poco m4 5g, it is not a budget phone, also not top of the line when i bought it in mid 2022, the camera on this thing is excellent, the regular camera front and back are good and it has a pro camera mode where you can control things like the exposition and whatnot, it even has a slow mode camera, the 64mb camera mode is useless tho, the pictures arent good just big.
I would've had a Xiaomi if they weren't so hostile about unlocking the bootloader (you have to sign up and wait a whole month)
Of course they do, they don't charge you 400$/€ just for slapping their brands on the device
It is insane to me that phones >$400 are so normalized. I remember a friend saying they got their iphone very cheap at like $500 and i am like 😐, my xiaomi phone was $120ish and does more stuff than the $500 iphone.
yeah, i bought a xiaomi after my previous samsung's battery bloated to three times its size in like 2 years of use...
also the sound quality of that samsung was absolute shit. just completely broken tinpot sound right from the start. i got it brand new too.
anyway, this xiaomi is great so far. that is, it's only as shitty as android and a touchscreen make it, and no more.
CW : Imperial core lifestyle (very shocking)
spoiler
The last Iphone can go up to 1479€ in France, where the minimum one month full time salary is something like 1300€ after taxes
So the cheap, reliable and hardy phone ends up winning people over rather than the flashy proprietary shiny junk that needs a 24/7 internet connection or else it will brick and will crap out after 6-12 months?
I'm utterly shocked, gobsmacked and dare I say, even possibly stupefied.
