why are the big apes all dark pigmented while the monkeys can often have very light coloration? Lightest apes I've seen (excluding albinos) are certain (not even most) chimpanzees, and even then their skin is only brown
is it because apes spend less time in the forest and more time in the plains and have to deal with sunlight?
