Shamelessness, mostly.

This is a guy who has spent 20 years insisting that every terrible thing that happened under his control didn't happen, wasn't his fault, and was proof of what would happen if he wasn't in power.

They just massacre all the starving people.

[-] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 16 points 7 months ago

It's easy when you don't consider them people

There’s fools all over Reddit and lemmy saying the same thing. I had a guy argue that because in 2011 60% we’re overweight in Gaza, that means today no one is starving.

I support Israel right to defend itself.

But seriously, fucking how. Even the most die hard Israeli supporters know Palestinians are starving, that civilians suffering happens in modern warfare, that hamas has been hiding in critical infrastructure that has been destroyed to root them out, and no matter who started what Palestine civilians are paying the cost.

screw nethanyahoo his days are numbered 80+% of israelis despise him, if they held erections now people would throw him not only out of power but also into a prison cell

You might want to take a HARD look at your comment and check some of your spelling.

[-] nublug@lemmy.blahaj.zone 26 points 7 months ago

[-] Whiskey_iicarus@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 7 months ago

I see it now. Must have flown right over my HEAD.

[-] wintermute_oregon@lemm.ee 4 points 7 months ago

Normally I won’t pick on spelling or grammar. We are typing on phones but that had some funny ones I didn’t notice.

[-] Whiskey_iicarus@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 7 months ago

Same, especially on such a serious topic.

Elections were held less than two years ago, and his party Likud, which already held the most seats in parliament, actually gained two more. With the other two right-wing parties, they hold 57% of seats.

Like it or not, Israelis haven't rejected him, they've endorsed him. I'm sure recent opinion polls would confirm this too.

[-] Aceticon@lemmy.world 20 points 7 months ago

Fascists will fascist

Maybe he was just misquoted and actually said that Palestinians aren't starving enough.

I fail to see the benefit of saying blatant lies. Exactly what does Bibi think he can gain by doing this if his government keeps being debunked for more and more of its false statements?

This man really is dragging everything and everyone down for his own political power.

[-] catloaf@lemm.ee 10 points 7 months ago

He's shown he can invade Gaza and commit genocide against Palestinians. His losses are minimal. Why would he stop?

It works.

He has his power centers. Despite so many people constantly saying "he's finished", he remains very much in control.

He says the thing that he believes will illicit the right reaction from the people who matter. Since he's unhindered by shame and his instincts are usually right, he's been a demonstration in successfully achieving unthinkable things. He's terribly evil, but one of the best in the world at it.

[-] blargerer@kbin.social 6 points 7 months ago

How many people believe all the easily disproven bullshit that was coming out of trumps mouth during his presidency? Its not for us, its for his base.

[-] Atin@lemmy.world 5 points 7 months ago

I'm generally pro Israel in outlook, but the sooner that old cunt dies the better. The world would be a better place if Bibi had been assassinated rather than Rabin.

[-] HappycamperNZ@lemmy.world 6 points 7 months ago

Same, and civilians suffering is a part of modern conflict.

But saying they aren't starving - thats on the "no you" level of self defense.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Paul Ronzheimer is the deputy editor-in-chief of BILD and a senior journalist reporting for Axel Springer, the parent company of POLITICO.

TEL AVIV — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has denied people are starving in Gaza and blamed Hamas for the lack of humanitarian aid entering the occupied territory.

The United Nations warns that famine is imminent, with the organization’s expert on the right to food, Michael Fakhri, accusing Israel of starving Gazans deliberately.

Our policies are to put in as much humanitarian aid as we could,” Netanyahu said in an interview with Axel Springer, POLITICO’s parent company.

The group has deep roots in Gaza, meaning some food and medical aid given to civilians inevitably ends up with the fighters Israel is trying to eradicate.

Asked why more aid isn’t reaching Gaza by land, Netanyahu said: “Hamas is coming at gunpoint and stealing the food.
