Using KERS was always fun in the F1 games. So there's at least that. I still wish they would the amount of times those overtake gimmicks (DRS and KERS) can be used during a race so that drivers only use it when conventional overtaking doesn't work. Make them work for an overtake. And if they can't overtake, then so be it. That's part of racing.
The cars are still slower than the v10 era why are they dropping the ice power when they could just add the extra battery. Its becoming less the pinnacle of speed and more how much can we handicap manufacturers.

I never understood that sole focus on top speed.
The wheel to wheel racing is better than in the V10 era, and that's what the regulations intend to do. What's the point of being fast in a straight line when the actual racing is shit? As a spectator you don't notice the difference between 355 and 365 kph anyway.

Not through a screen at least, thanks to camera angles and cuts that prioritize sponsors' legibility over quality views of great racing.
Perpendicular tight stationary shots are needed in order to get a sense of speed. The narrow camera angles don't provide enough coverage to show battles or even a whole corner. Think about car racing in the movies, the tight shots when a camera is following the action, they have to cut to the speedo or tac to provide a sense of speed.
The adverts littering the track are a product of having to use wider shots to show the action.
I was referring to the sponsor logos on the cars but yeah
F1 is about innovation, not just speed. ICEs are a dying technology, hybrid/battery technology is something that manufacturers are interested in investing in, I assume that's why the ICE is slowly being phased out.
If they didn't keep pinning the cars back they'd be too fast for the tracks they race on to meet safety standards.
If they kept the rules the same forever the cars would be too fast to race. They also need to make the competition compelling for manufactures to make engines; win on Sunday sell on Monday.
And they will end up making more power than now with higher energy efficiency than could have been imagined 30 years ago.
