That plate number does indeed seem to be registered to a 2014 Jeep Patriot at least, though... which MAY be the right vehicle. Still probably not legal though.

It's probably to avoid paying tolls, assuming the auto tag readers can't figure out the font

Couldn't you just get one of those licence plate covers that covers the licence plate for this

Or perhaps one that switches the number plate between the legit one and a bs one
