I tried watching the video. I am genuinely interested but I couldn't. The video is ~~uncuted~~ (edit: uncut*, my English is so bad) and very slow paced. After 10 minutes I gave up (50 minutes remaining).

Maybe an other time or with an other video.

I hope someone watches it and post a tl;dr here.

I'm interested too, but I don't understand why everything has to be a video (instead of something like a blog post) and don't have an hour for that.

Didn't watch, but AI generated a summary:Sound nice, but need an extra power source. Raspi as a DAC. Planar drivers.

Not for me.

Thanks mate, much appreciated.

God's honest truth. 5 minutes of reading content gets stretched into 30 minutes of &$#@ video.

I think this video is a extreme example of the problem.

Its a one hour video bookended with statements that the author doesn't have time to make a better video.

0:00:15: Now I've written a lengthy script but I have no time to actually read it out correctly from memory so I think I'm just going to use it as notes and talk from the top of my head instead.
...
1:07:15: I'm kind of sad that I can't do this review like better technically cuz i can't afford to spend you know a month editing this video.

There's an old joke about how long it takes to prepare a talk in academia. Want an hour? I can do it right now. 30 minute presentation? I'll need a few weeks. 10 minute presentation? Better give me one or two month lead time.

Thank goodness

I tried watching and even skipped around. " I keep mine in a bag, let me show you" then he gets up for a min, then he struggles with the bag. I searched for... you know... INFO ABOUT THE FUCKING HEADPHONES for maybe 5 min after watching for 3-5 min.

Soon it was "welp, guess I'm not checking those out"

A friggin hour??? goddamn. I thought "10 mins... at 1.5x, that's going to be fine", but 1h is too much.

That is a name only an open-source project could have.

That definitely looks like a guy who would have ploopy open source headphones.

[-] kalistia@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 year ago

Ploopy the headphones, recommanded by Ploppy the Jailer

[-] mynamesnotrick@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 year ago

Cool project, pretty pricey... Seems like a very niche market for something like this. Also, I agree with "ploopy" is a terrible name. Lol.
