Oh man! It's releases on all platforms at once, even PC!!! Normally PC comes out like a year later. That's fantastic!

Game came out in japan year and a half ago.

I know, my best friend and I were watching like hawks, waiting for the traditional 1 year to elapse for a US console release. Normally it's 1 year after Japan's release then it comes out in the US on Playstation. Then 6 months too a year later it comes out on PC. It's wonderful it'll come out on PC at the same time as the consoles. That way my best friend and I can play on PCs in the same room, get better FPS, and larger screens since we won't need to split screen for local coop.

I’m curious if they decided to go with a story reboot. I think even EDF 4 had most of humanity’s population killed in the chaos.

Not that story especially matters in these games!

Story-wise EDF 6 is a sequel to 5, which was a reboot. The in-game ridiculous storytelling through radio communications is part of its charm, I find.

6 is a direct sequel to 5, which was a reboot (and partially remake of with how much got recycled) 4.

I don't think we'll ever get a continuation of EDF 3/4 (2017/2025) aside from the continuity nod that was World Brothers.
