I did it. I finally got up to date with One Piece.

It's alright.

I think the message in this/the prior chapter would be better conveyed if they just let Vegapunk have a monologue instead of constantly cutting away to 17 different viewpoints, including multiple action scenes. At most, have the one interruption with the elders trying to blow shit up. The development of the elders being weirdo monsters is neat.

Also damn the fish in that emoji is ripped.

Nah the cutaways workcause its fun catching up old characters from long back. Its just scale. Its fun to watch doffy chat while there's this high stakes thing is happening.

Nice job catching up! How long did it take you?

Oda loves doing the frantic cutaway stuff right as he's approaching the climax of an arc. I feel like it works much better when you read straight through instead of week to week because it's easier to keep the action in order. I do kinda like it for big events like this cuz it keeps the world connected, like something so big is happening that it affects all these other characters we've seen.

Looked through my history and it was around 4 months from Ch1 to 1113. Even being generous and estimating 2 minutes per chapter we're looking at around 40 hours.

Yeah I get it's a stylistic choice, but man this is some primo lore hold back on the punches for a minute and let the dead man speak. This is also making me realize that reading Wano Act 3 "live" must have been fucking awful as that seemed to drag even just reading it all in one go.

Wano definitely dragged towards the end reading weekly. I went back and reread the whole thing from the start and it was waaaay better that way

Oh my. They dropped joyboy's name. So many greqt cutaways. Doffy. Chouchou. Tonjit. Saul. The celestials losing it.

Elders unsure of what to do is pretty funny.

Now what possibly can vegapunk drop which can be scathing. Ancient kingdom lore. Cause the ohara guy got shot before he can say it. Best I can hope is that he will paraphrase clover.

There's so many good small things in this chapter, like the Celestial Dragons don't seem to be aware of the Void Century, the little pun on the front of the Mother Flame (A&Mu = A To Mu = Atom; does this imply something about Imu???), Saul confirmed alive. And I'm just loving how desperate the Elders are getting trying to stop this message.

They seem aware, they seem mad that its being aired out to the world.

Also mother flame looks like the energy that enel sees on moon.
