Students need to make a big fuss about this. I mean overwhelming the administration with complaints, demands to be transferred to different classes, no student should take a class from these two ever, if these two are required for your graduation plan then that needs to be a mass protest from students so no one is forced to be in their class.
I feel like women have every right to just give up on us men at this point.
They kind of have. That's why they chose the bear.
I'm a bit confused about the wording around students having to ask for leave from University.
Here in Australia, we have lectures, tutorials (which are more like classes) and assessment. Professors (we usually call them lecturers) can take attendance at tutorials and assign a percentage of your final grade to it, but it's not like a job where you have to call in if you're not going to come; you just don't turn up. Only two of my classes in either of my degrees counted attendance for marks.
For the easier classes you could (and people do) just not show up to classes and hand in the assessment before the due date, and still pass.
So is it like high school for you guys where you actually have to have an excuse for not attending?
Rules vary a LOT by university in the US; there isn't one consistent standard.
They even vary by professor. I had one Professor back in the day who did take attendance and I thought I was weird cuz no one else ever had no one else ever cared.
I get the impression students in the US get treated sort of younger for longer, e.g their PhD students still attend classes.
I think it varies a lot. None of my classes ever had attendance. But I have heard of other colleges where it was a norm for every class. Some colleges are just weirdly strict about stuff.
It's unbelievably creepy that these two guys are trying to concern themselves with anything at all to do with their students' bodies or health.
It just screams "got into teaching for the wrong reasons".
Anyone who ever stepped a foot on campus is aware of the fact that academia is full of sex pests abusing their power...
PhD programs are notorious for this and Adkins look the other way...
You want this PhD honey or are you going to throw it all away... Choice is yours!!!
Very hard to believe a group with even rudimentary education would place themselves in such a position
