Oh yeah, my poor Firefox can't handle a zip file...

If I can't wget it, forget it.

Chrome is required because they use the brand new AI-powered Super Turbo ZIP

looks like this is an OEM's website problem rather than a Firefox one

[-] yokonzo@lemmy.world 66 points 1 year ago

Never said it was a Firefox problem, of course Firefox can download a zip file

[-] Brkdncr@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago

It’s because they don’t test against Firefox.

[-] SomethingBurger@jlai.lu 27 points 1 year ago

Test what? Downloading zips?

Their website in general.

If FF was only a single digit percentage representation of browsers showing up in their stats then I would drop support for it too, and put a banner up for browsers that aren’t tested against.

Yes but install a cute banner. We didn't test for compatibility with your browser. We're sorry! You may continue to use your browser, but you may get errors and see all the subliminal advertising to buy more of our fine prducts!

Why? So no one has hurt feelings?

[-] uriel238@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 1 year ago

Yes. And to let them know you don't particularly resent their choice of using a non-standard browser.

I thought the UI looked familiar.

I never got that error when I downloaded MoBo patches.

[-] yokonzo@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

I mean it still allowed me, I just thought the very idea that I would need edge to download a file was dumb
