Playing Dark Sector to see the history of digital extremes and its baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad. Its really really baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.

The combat has the potential to be fun if the game wasnt a frustrating boring enemy spam fest.

Oh cool, I love fallout 4!

I have no idea what this game is, but it looks very 2009 brown

This was the shitty fps the devs of Warframe made, they reused the armor in this pic for the Excalibur frame.

This game was suuuuuch a perrenial $3 bargain bin game for so long, lol

[-] Gorb@hexbear.net 7 points 1 year ago

Ah but is it more or less bargain bin than my next game on the list, Turok 2008 reboot

[-] SuperZutsuki@hexbear.net 6 points 1 year ago

Holy shit, I actually forgot that game existed. And I've had Turok on my mind (getting the Nightdive remasters from the summer sale)

[-] ashinadash@hexbear.net 6 points 1 year ago

Turok 2008 was def more deserving of the bargain bin but weirdly I never saw that many copies...

Jump on myabandonware and try their older game Pariah as well

Turok Evolution is the one and only time I've actively regretted a $5 purchase

Up there with time shift and dark void comrade-raccoon

[-] Gorb@hexbear.net 5 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Hey now hey there i actually like timeshift. Dark Void can eat piss though its the worst of that era, replayed it recently its even worse than i remember it

[-] magi@hexbear.net 6 points 1 year ago

Oh I wasn't saying I thought the games were bad. Just they were what you'd see in the bargain bins. I miss being able to go in and pick up a cheap decent game lol I have a fondness for the AA janky games lol

It gets points for this scene and maybe the jetpack. 3/10 would rather play far cry instincts

The promo stuff leading up to this game looked cool. Shame dark sector was a let down, can view it on the popular video webzone

[-] magi@hexbear.net 2 points 1 year ago

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Okqa8BYkRHI This video has most of the promo videos, at the time I thought it was going to be something along the lines of metal gear with some stealth gameplay

[-] underisk@hexbear.net 6 points 1 year ago

The glaive was pretty cool, though

[-] ProfessorOwl_PhD@hexbear.net 6 points 1 year ago

iirc it was originally going to be a mix between Unreal Tournament and Warframe until executive meddling took out nearly everything but the suit and glaive and replaced it with market trends. Warframe was much closer to the game they originally wanted to make back when it released in 2013, but 10 years of permanent beta has allowed them to expand everything well beyond their original scope.

[-] Gorb@hexbear.net 2 points 1 year ago

https://youtu.be/7nl8890-C2w yeah the original trailer was much closer to the warframe we know today but the publisher wanted grey cover shooter like everyone else.

[-] ProfessorOwl_PhD@hexbear.net 2 points 1 year ago

lmao I completely forgot they just straight up had the Zariman in that trailer. Pretty sure I last watched it back when "Tenno = Ten Zero" was still a joke, though.

[-] Grownbravy@hexbear.net 6 points 1 year ago

Ah, DE, you sure made it difficult to love you sometimes

[-] hexaflexagonbear@hexbear.net 5 points 1 year ago

This is the one that added a few environmental puzzles and branded itself as a Zelda-like, right?
