Idk if this is a hobby, but I caught another stray kitten. This is my third one so far, and it is by far the youngest. I don't have the cash to take it to the vet, but I can at least give it food and teach it what human friendship is before finding it a home.

Look up cat rescues in your area. Some of them might help with free or discounted vet care. Years ago, when I was broke and rescuing, a local group helped take care of most of the bills.

The rescues around me are always tapped out, so idk what to do. You can't even put them on fb marketplace, so I don't even know where to advertise it.

Here it is all cleaned up

The little thing cries while eating.

Cleaned up these boots. And I hate speed hooks, so I converted them to D-rings.

How old are those boots and what kind of work do you wear them for?

[-] actionjbone@sh.itjust.works 1 points 11 months ago

I just thrifted them, so I don't know how old they are - but Carolina still makes this model, so probably not more than a few yearsv old. The heels are VERY worn, so I'll have my cobbler fix that.

But the uppers are incredibly nice. The leather was pretty dry, so I oiled them a bit, and they softened up quite nicely. They're pretty comfy.

I'll likely keep them as general-purpose boots - friends moving, general outdoor work, etc. - and then wear them just when I feel like wearing a pair of boots.

Still Tuesday here, but I'll jump in. Working on the CAD file for the 3D printed case of my next mechanical keyboard. For this one, I actually designed a super primitive PCB instead of hand-wiring all the keys, and it's on its way from China. I'll still need to wire the Raspberry Pi Pico myself, since I wanted to start by dipping my toe in to see if I could route the switches' matrix and the mounting holes for the diodes I'll need.

I've been playing a lot of Dragon Age Inquisition recently. I dropped it the first time because I got stuck in the first area for days doing pointless side quests. It's clicking a lot better this time. I'm doing the interesting side quests only and mostly focusing on the main story.

Same. But I got bored with it pretty quickly and started Dragon Dogma Dark Arisen.

I have a interview this morning with company A while learnt that I just failed the pre-screening test for company B yesterday.

The prescreen test is failed. But the interview have no response yet.

Likely failed too. This economic people demand a lot of skill while paying so little.

You know, if all of business become picky when hiring, we can hire for cheap.

I've been making a 3D model of the Super Metroid map... in Space Engineers. Lol

It's actually way more complicated than you'd think. It's made me appreciate the game even more.

Sat down and made a pretty blinky drive access light for one of my retro Macs.

Super happy with how it came out. though finding an appropriately amber LED proved super problematic - they're all "orange" now instead, but eh, close enough.

(If you're bored, blinkenlights video at https://tube.uncomfortable.business/w/8JanGKAYjAmcySy1U3sMG8 )

Revamped my lifting spreadsheet. Tried drawing a bit (haven't drawn seriously in like 5 years). Going to make cherry jam today if I have the energy. 🍒

I made and froze 92 three cheese ravioli, which is tiring, but will be nice for dinner!

Did some writing for a mud I play in, and will probably write more terrible foods into the game!

I heavily mulched our winter squash bed. Embedded a soaker hose underneath. We've already had some hot, dry stretches.

Tested a couple portable recorders with lav mics for a podcast project I've been kicking around.
