Unless something very different comes along I don't think I'll be moving on from this keyboard.

Ryeworks M0110 hotswap keyboard with solenoid, PCB and FR4 plate both with flex cuts, Kailh box pro deep sea whale tactile(what a mouth full), staebies stabilizers and cherry profile double shot pbt keycaps.

The amount of flex, the tactiles with the solenoid, the layout, everything is exactly as I would want. I keep looking and browsing different keyboards, switches, stabilizers and keycaps but I'm just not seeing anything I feel like buying and trying.

I was using one with high profile, dark colored abs keycaps but just wasn't satisfied, tried a light color one with higher contrast caps and it was a huge improvement. I then went to a split left shift and having a function key on that side made it perfect for me.

I guess I solved my desire, which should be a good thing right?

Then just keep it and stop buying keyboards for no reason.

Keyboards are a tool. You've find one that works for you, and now you're done. You win

It's not everyday I see ISO standard mechanical keyboard on the Internet. I love the fat enter key.

[-] datelmd5sum@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

I think this is the first time I've seen ISO with a US (or UK?) layout.

[-] Frozzie@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

US layout is ANSI (long horizontal enter key). This is a UK ISO keyboard, though this one isn't standardised (see where the control key is placed).

I really dislike the fact that, in Europe, when you cross a border, the keyboard layout can be totally different.

This is neither a UK ISO layout, nor a US ANSI. It's an ISO layout that uses the US ANSI positions for the symbols.

Yeah it's an amalgamation of a layout, raised with a big ass enter keyboard, later switched to a standard ansi and always hated that backslash and pipe had a large key? Always bothered me. After a while I got my hands on a wyse 50 keyboard and did a soarer's mod on to make it usb and was happy for awhile until they key combos resulting in other keys finally pushed me to moving on. I don't remember many but ctrl+w+e would send tab, not great when I'm crouch walking and go to open a door.

Would still love to have a space larger than 7, that 9.75 space bar was something else.. Also got me to love control below tab. Though now I don't even want a caps lock key, if I for some reason really want to use it I have key combos, both shifts works fine for me should I need it.

It's not everyday I see a Strafe avatar on the internet!

I love stomping on gluttons

e: wait, I know you

[-] Frozzie@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

You're probably the first person to tell me about Strafe. I used to play this game so much.

You know me? :o

[-] vikingtons@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

You made a post about strafe and that's where I know you from.

I recently went back to 100% the game last week. Hangtime achievement was hard af.

How the fuck do you f2 your army on this keyboard when you've got dark templars in your mineral line?!

[-] Brick@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago

By pressing function+2, though in using TD instead of MO I do have to wait 200ms.. I like having F13-F24 on a third layer though.

Yeah, be happy you've found your true love ๐Ÿ™‚

I wish I could try it out.... Looks nice.

Congratulations on settling on your endgame keyboard!

Once got my Moonlander and put on Dolch XDAs with O-Ring, I called it a day. Every now and then I've been musing about an Ergodash, but I just don't have a good reason to switch.

Same with my Moonlander. Once I had it set up the way I like, there's not much to change, even though I get the itch sometimes.
I can't imagine going back or using a staggered keyboard anymore tho, my fingers hurt just looking at this kb

I will never understand how anyone can use a layout like this

[-] Brick@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

As someone who used to be enamored with huge keyboards I don't get it myself, I tried it because I thought it was neat and next thing I know I'm just stuck here.

[-] coronach@lemmy.sdf.org 5 points 3 months ago

I use that layout. Instead of a huge keyboard I use mod layers. Very handy and I prefer it. I get why others wouldn't.

[-] tuckerm@supermeter.social 3 points 3 months ago

I had no idea any solenoid keyboards were being made. Looks like a solid endgame right there.
