Probably the best thing they could do. Seeking China’s aid will yield actual results rather than constantly receiving weapons from the west which is only prolonging Ukraine’s destruction.
It's also likely a sign that Ukraine is starting to get realistic about their prospects and that the west is going to throw them under the bus in the end.
It would be great if they hadn't passed a law making it illegal to negotiate with Russia.
