Why? I'm sure there's an appetite in the market for a company that crushes billionaires.

[-] HikingVet@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 1 year ago

Oh there's an appetite, but its hard to disguise them so you can continue.

[-] Asweet@lemmy.ca 44 points 1 year ago

The employees must be crushed to hear this

[-] thesohoriots@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

Nah it might be a real weight off their shoulders

The pressure was just too much to bear… Cracks we’re starting to show. (Sorry for plumbing the depths)

[-] ilovecarrotjuice@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Some were definitely under a lot of pressure

I never understood why someone would deliberately name their company OceanGate

[-] ArchTemperedKoala@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

Well it's kinda work like a gate to the ocean, allowing you into it..

Just maybe, not on a tin sardine can.

[-] Sinister_Grape@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

I should think so.

I've got a sinking feeling about this

So they didn't find a new CEO within this short timeline I guess?

[-] Ronno@kbin.social 12 points 1 year ago

None of the candidates could handle the pressure /s

[-] kratoz29@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

These new employment requirements are getting crazy.

[-] Deathsauce@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

It's a shameful waste of life regardless of who these people were, all because one person didn't want to adhere to the rules. This kind of scenario can apply in and result in tragedy in so many different instances with different types of people. I'd at least hope the other eccentric entrepreneurs learn from this, but I'm not going to expect anything.

Reading this I couldn't help but say aloud: "Yeah, no shit."

[-] donuts@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

"Damn. How disappointing..." - Nobody

Are you telling me… that investors and potential customers… DON’T want to spend money to be imploded thousands of feet below the surface?

God I know nothing about good business.
