CEO: Hmm, do I give myself a raise or give the ~~slaves~~ employees some extra crumbs this year? Buzzes secretary. Hey sweet cheeks, go ahead and fire teams 5 through 7, will you? Oh, and while you're at it, go ahead and pack up your own desk, okay? Okay. Now, just how much bonus should I give myself for my innovative contributions to the market? 5 zeros? No. Six zeros. Better.

it's really sad to see all my favorite creative outlets get hampered by all these C-suite business decisions. sad to see my favorite studio bleed out like this (imo destiny has been a shitshow since day 1), but what can I possibly do about it, yk?

I feel you. I can't say I have any feeling towards Bungie either way but this is more than just Bungie, it's become a market standard and beyond being sickening, it's very much terrifying for the future of gaming as a whole. I can appreciate amping the indie scene and very much think it's worth doing but there's still only ever so much a single talented developer can do (even with their five closest equally-talented friends). I miss the sheer awe of a reveal that only a big budget could achieve from back in the day. Now, whenever I hear about a big trailer release or hosted event from the triple ehh market, I just roll my eyes and wait for the next-day articles or plethora of YT videos covering the highlights.
