Older comments by Trump’s 2024 running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance (R), have recently resurfaced in which he said he found it strange “that we’ve tried to turn a very tragic moment, Simone Biles quitting the Olympic team, into this act of heroism.”

“And I think it reflects pretty poorly on our sort of therapeutic society, that we try to praise people not for moments of strength, not for moments of heroism, but for their weakest moments,” Vance continued.

No matter the issue, there’s always a JD Vance quote saying something awful about women.

Sounds more like fascist fetishization of the strong and disparaging of the weak to me.

Because that's exactly what it is.

Ahahaha what a pathetic excuse for an overly stinky piece of weird shit.

Productivity >>> The health of the peasants.

This faux tough guy shit republicans keep pushing actually affects and hurts people.

That’s gotta sting even more for a man who’s perpetually stuck with bronze.

That must be why Flavor Flav is helping out these Olympians.

She's a national treasure! (And I hear she's a pretty good gymnast too.)

She didn't have to comment (actually she DID since the orange shit stained bully always requires a response during this campaign season), she could have just laid low, reveled in her Olympic wins, thanked GAWD and told the media her next move was she was going to Disneyland.

Instead, she bravely steps in and sarcastically jabs him on the nose knowing full well that the greatest insult to that privileged failure of a human is sass from an uppity negro. An actual WINNER, no less! Further punctuating that he's a loser.

Something something, Republican mental gymnastics.

[-] CheeryLBottom@lemmy.world 9 points 3 months ago

Is there an Olympic sport for that?

[-] InternetUser2012@lemmy.today 5 points 3 months ago

Don't forget they have their goalposts mounted to a Bugatti.

I remember the Olympics where she had to drop out for personal issues and Reddit was a shitshow of people slamming on her being unpatriotic.

I know it’s likely not the same people but it irks me how now she’s a hero (always was to me) because she is bringing home medals.

Queue some trump word salad about how he's the best former president for black folks since Lincoln and how Biles is nasty and ungrateful.
