Alex the Parrot recently flipped the fuck out when someone tossed a tree branch with a plushie of some kind attached to it into his backyard. His owner had to throw it into a fire to get Alex to calm down.

Something exactly the same happened to Apollo the African Gray.

Derp I got my parrots mixed up. You're right it was Apollo, not Alex lol

Lol I thought it was such a huge coincidence, but I didn't know about the plushie detail, so I didn't think much of it.

One of my birds had this. I always introduced new toys by first putting it in the same room, then slowly (over days) moving it closer to the cage. Then I hung it on the outside before finally moving it into the cage. If I just hung it in the cage without this introduction, she would get used to its presence but wouldn’t interact with the toy.

My other bird I just put it straight into the cage. She gave zero Fs lol
