Ah that’s a shame.

I really cannot fully express how much I have grown to hate all these motherfuckers and their awful work - and I work in Silicon Valley.

I feel like throwing up even seeing Ive's "the work behind this turd starts with a carefully engineered thread of digestion, and the smell and texture were carefully selected by thousands of experiments handled personally by our engineers, it's a miraculous creation, and in its own way it's unique" face.

I am thoroughly entrenched in the Apple ecosystem, and I can’t stand those socioeconomic vampires.

Product design Anakin used to make some dope shit before he turned to the dark side.

[-] SnotFlickerman@lemmy.blahaj.zone 27 points 1 month ago

I am altering the design. Pray I do not alter it any further.

[-] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

God, I love that case design. Eventually, I'm gonna put a modern system in one.

[-] rottingleaf@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

It seemed cool because everything was beige or white or black and square. "Boring" industrial design (that I liked, but those Apple stuff pictures I liked too, though not as much as chromecore GBA and PS2, remember when everything was chromecore?) and this bubbly-transparent-plastic-luminous thing.

I don't think I'd like it really using it though. And it is tasteless, like everything Ive designed.

I’m mostly referring to how the case functioned. The door, the legs that tripled as handles and rack mount holes. The G3 / G4 cases were easy to access, upgrade, move, and store.

Ahhh, the good ole days

[-] IllNess@infosec.pub 2 points 1 month ago

At least the previous version that uses AA batteries, you can swap them out and keep working. Now people need two mice just to continue working...

Oh yay, another AI Pin or glasses or assistant thing that won't be worth buying. Yay.

I’ll take my chances with Cthulhu. With Baal as my backup.

[-] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 21 points 1 month ago

Is it just slightly unsecret enough that giddy investors can throw money at it though??

Whatever it is, I’ll bet it’ll be 3 nanometers thinner than last year’s model!

[-] IllNess@infosec.pub 5 points 1 month ago

Less keys, more touch bars.

[-] whatwhatwhatwhat@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

One year later…

Touch bars are old news. We’re replaced them with this amazing new thing called “keys”!

[-] IllNess@infosec.pub 2 points 1 month ago

Apple, please do that but with the headphone jack.
