My aunt has a ragdoll. She constantly brings her comb to people and stands with her chin raised and eyes closed, ready for them to comb her. Gets very annoyed if they don't.

My aunt has a ragdoll. She constantly brings her comb to people and stands with her chin raised and eyes closed, ready for them to comb her.

I initially read this as a toy ragdoll, and your aunt bringing the toy doll and a comb and silently demanding people to comb the hair on the doll.

Apparently, this is how one is supposed to read it, for anyone else wondering: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ragdoll

[-] toynbee@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago

I remember when Unreal Tournament introduced ragdoll physics.

[-] Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee 2 points 9 months ago

UT never did such a thing.
(I know you mean 2004 - what I'm hinting at is that the og one didn't and because of me knowing mostly that one my back hurts a bit more. Actually I remember Trespasser ~~with boob-hearth~~ ragdolling, wild)

[-] toynbee@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

I definitely remember the boob health meter, but it had ragdolling?

The main thing I remember about that game was it being the first one I played that allowed me to soft lock my progress.

edit: and being impressed at the lady's strength, throwing around boxes and barrels with one hand.

[-] Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee 2 points 9 months ago

Well fuck me, I never ever questioned the strength of her fully extended arm just casually throwing boxes around, not for a single moment.

The ragdolls, I remember corpses on slopes respecting proper boundaries.

It seems you could glitch it out too: youtube/i6cWEbkBeZQ.

The game had a pretty interesting history, too. In case you're not familiar with the details, you might enjoy this or a similar video: https://youtu.be/bp7PqRMI1HA

I read it as the aunt carrying the comb and asking for a brush

[-] jaybone@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago

I read it as an ant with a comb and three giraffes in a hot tub.

[-] Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee 2 points 9 months ago

Obviously the toy ragdoll brings the brush to guests & demands brushies.

[-] Samvega@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 9 months ago

Now THIS is the horror film I want to see advertised on every bus in a nine-mile radius.

[-] MyNameIsRichard@lemmy.ml 14 points 9 months ago

Well that's just adorable.

[-] ByteJunk@lemmy.world 47 points 9 months ago

I'm no expert, but I'm pretty confident it needs a new drive belt.

[-] lustyargonian@lemm.ee 16 points 9 months ago

Carpurrettor is malfunctioning I think.

[-] ozoned@lemmy.world 7 points 9 months ago

Timing belt needs a good tightening is all.

[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 19 points 9 months ago

Heheh… they sound like a raccoon….

Adorable!

[-] adhocfungus@midwest.social 17 points 9 months ago

For once I am actually happy I turned the sound on.

Top 3 cutest cats of the year

[-] Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee 2 points 9 months ago

Agreed.
(All cats are top 3 cutest cats of the year tho, that's just how cat math works, but it's no less true)

[-] blibla@slrpnk.net 11 points 9 months ago

sounds more like a star wars alien animal

[-] troyunrau@lemmy.ca 10 points 9 months ago

My cat enjoyed this video once I turned the sound on..

[-] Jikiya@lemmy.world 10 points 9 months ago

And I thought my cat's purr was loud. Is quiet by comparison.

[-] Mango@lemmy.world 8 points 9 months ago

I wanna feel that good.

[-] ohwhatfollyisman@lemmy.world 7 points 9 months ago

thos video breaks maths. parallel strokes leading to a purr-pendicular outcome?

[-] CreateProblems@corndog.social 6 points 9 months ago
[-] jenny_ball@lemmy.world 6 points 9 months ago

why do they lick when you do this?

[-] nailbar@sopuli.xyz 15 points 9 months ago

My guess is licking is just tightly wired to the feeling of getting brushed, as they use their tongue to brush themselves.

[-] thesporkeffect@lemmy.world 5 points 9 months ago

Like how dogs kick their leg when you scratch behind their ears

[-] jenny_ball@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

ah yes makes sense. i had cats that did this too

Omg I love it when they have such distinguished purrs!!

[-] ozoned@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

Sounds like a 2000's cell phone ringer.

[-] Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee 1 points 9 months ago

Hmmm ... actually, if I would isolate (with permission) a single purr that would work nicely for notifications.

[-] vinyl@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago

oh my firing off on all cylinders with this cutie!

[-] Etterra@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago
