Democracy dies with complicity
Is anyone surprised? Just about every millionaire/billionaire business person is going to vote Trump because he's told them repeatedly he's going to cut their taxes. That's bad news for the rest of us working people because our taxes will have to go up to make up for those cuts.
The long story here is that they made the bed they're laying in. Treating Trump as a serious leader, either out of fear or greed, instead of protecting the integrity of journalism and, by extension, democracy has led us here.
Well I'm certainly surprised that the WaPo itself produced a story about it. Someone over there has some cajones.
They'll just cut services in order to make things even harder for people. Then they'll say, "see, government doesn't work!" Then they'll privatize everything.
This is why neo-liberals and neo-cons are two sides of the same coin. Both want public money funneled into private hands; they only differ on whose hands.

Later on Friday, The Washington Post, citing two sources briefed on the decision, reported that Bezos made the call not to publish an endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris, which had already been drafted by editorial staffers.
NPR reported that members of the Post newsroom were upset by the decision. Marty Baron, the paper's former executive editor, called it "a moment of darkness that will leave democracy as a casualty."
"Donald Trump will celebrate this as an invitation to further intimidate The Post's owner, Jeff Bezos (and other media owners)," Baron told NPR.

People interpreted this as a warning, but in reality it was a goal
At this point, don't let the news, horserace polls, TV and social media's narratives of false equivalency (like how Trump wanting generals like Hitler's is equally newsworthy as Harris not going on Joe Rogan's show) paint your attitude.
Give it your all, give it your best, vote, volunteer, encourage your friends, DO NOT GIVE UP until the day after Voting Day at least.
As a Canadian I can't vote, so I can feel especially helpless sometimes with what's happening to the USA. What I can do is inject hope and positivity and courage to give Harris the best chance to cross the finish line. So take this energy and run with it until the end.
I remain optimistic about Harris's chances, completely honestly. But even if my optimism is well-placed, it is vital that we remember this bullshit, not only in the lead-up to the election, but in the days after it. Fascist cunts will try to pretend none of this ever happened. We have to remember it, and cite it, and push it forward every time one of them tries to convince some burned-out swing voter that both sides are 'just as bad' or 'the mainstream media is in the pockets of the DEMS!'
I hope you’re right. I have hope too, but it’s really only denial that there is a reality where Trump is a serious candidate. This is 2016 all over again, but with proof, plus he’s gone even darker

All the gun nuts are going to be fucking pissed when they realize it's Republicans that are going to confiscate their guns.
What makes you think they'll ever realize it? The Dems will be blamed even if the party is banned, massacred, driven underground, and its last remaining members isolated in fucking Montana or some similar godforsaken place.
