TIL Province Wellesley (Seberang Prai) was named after the guy who later became Duke of Wellington, the guy who defeated Napoleon.
And it was not random, he and a boatload of soldiers stopped at Penang while on a naval mission.

I figure only nerds know this but back when Agensi Pengangkutan Awam Darat was a Suruhanjaya, its acronym SPAD was actually very ironic because its also the acronym for when trains run the red light: signal passed at danger.
