Ah, yes, just like the Battle of the Bulge. Gather up all your last best men, make a small momentary dent on an irrelevant front so you can pat yourself on the back for finally making gains, and then ultimately lose the battle anyway.

I'm from the USSR and I had a yank tell me I'd be speaking German if not for murica.
I said I only speak a bit of German but wish I spoke it better so he went on to painstakingly explain what WW2 was.

Wow… there was even one instance where he wrote the word 'Nazi' and another where he mentioned the head of state, but of course he preferred the terms 'German' and 'Germany' because those sound friendlier and downright neighbourly compared to 'Nazi', 'Fascist', 'Reich', or 'Axis'. Most people don't tense up when they hear the word 'German'. You got your German shepherds, your German Spitze, your German pancakes, your German fries, your German lutes, your German biscuits, your German chocolate cakes. Those sound friendly! You hear 'Want some German beer?' and you go either 'Yeah, sure' or 'Eh, no, thanks.' You hear 'Want some Nazi beer?' and you go 'Wait, WHAT‽'
So are bleeding-heart liberals going to finally realize the meaning of this war? Or are they still going to stand ten toes down on Russophobia?

To be fair, it's not like they had any real choice here. The regime in Ukraine is entirely dependent on western support to function. That means they can't be seen to be losing by their western sponsors. When the front started to buckle in the east, they had to draw attention away from that, hence the Kursk stunt.
The media are getting more open in their fascism.
