There will be a new demonstration in Athens tomorrow Tuesday, due to the visit of the new NATO head Mark Rutte. Without simultaneous strikes this time.
That's great to hear, comrade! Don't let up until victory is achieved!
The government tried to respond the same way they do every time: Ignore the protestor demands. Have the police start beating up and arresting protestors, to provoke violence and property damage. Use provocateurs in the crowd. Then go on the media and accuse the protestors of violence to deflate them.
This time though, things were organized very well and the old tricks didn't work. KKE and the unions, as well as every other participant group got together from before and made sure to stamp out provocateurs and avoid police provocations. We foresee that the protests will carry on.
It helps a lot that parties like SYRIZA have basically been dismantled at this point. They only served as distractions to the proletariat's struggle. All they ever achieved was some small liberal compromises to largely neoliberal policies for the past 15 years.
