Narayama Murthy is a mistake.

"I will take this with me to my grave"

Hurry up then

Maybe somebody could help him along.

Some people just hate their family so much that they'd rather be working 80 hours a week, and go through great lengths to justify it.

[-] Pips@lemmy.sdf.org 6 points 2 weeks ago

Well when your son-in-law is Rishi Sunak...

[-] jaggedrobotpubes@lemmy.world 26 points 2 weeks ago

They were a mistake.

Take the week off, work for two days on the weekends.

[-] atro_city@fedia.io 24 points 2 weeks ago

I wonder how many hours a week he works.

[-] KoboldCoterie@pawb.social 27 points 2 weeks ago

Murthy claimed he himself worked six and a half days a week until retirement, typically 14 hours and 10 minutes a day, clocking on at 6:20 AM before downing tools at 8:30 PM.

So he's a workaholic and he wants to force that on everyone.

I can clock in when I wake up too and clock out when I go to sleep. Not that hard, honestly. Also these people count travel as "work". So everybody traveling to work in the office is traveling too, but of course that's not paid. Only the boss can claim that's "work".

[-] TexasDrunk@lemmy.world 14 points 2 weeks ago

Maybe not. Maybe he just hates being home so he'd "clock in" then dick around for 5.5 days. Having a shit relationship with your partner makes it a lot easier to pretend to work longer hours as an excuse not to come home.

This is Rishi Sunak's wife's father.

[-] eskimofry@lemmy.world 22 points 2 weeks ago

That's called father-in-law

[-] floofloof@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 weeks ago

That is true. I just like to be longwinded.

[-] Absaroka@lemmy.world 17 points 2 weeks ago

“Frankly I was a little bit disappointed in 1986 when we moved from a six-day week to a five-day week,” he added.

“I was not very happy with that. I think in this country, we have to work very hard because there is no substitute for hard work even if you're the most intelligent guy."

Funny how the out of touch billionaires keep pushing this line of thinking. The guy is on record saying he doesn't believe in work / life balance and is currently pushing for a 70 hour work week in India.

[-] sunzu2@thebrainbin.org 11 points 2 weeks ago

Didn't he come out recently telling young people to waste their lives cucking so he can get another lambo?

Parasite

Wouldn't give him the pleasure.

What's that thing American slaves were allowed so that they would fuck it up and be happy with the structure provided by the slave owner? You know, happy with some freedom some would get drunk, others gamble, etc.

Anyway, it was shit.

Don't fall into that trap.

[-] str82L@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

If there were a wall, and let's say he was first against it, there would not be many surprised people.

[-] Badeendje@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

Was about to comment, this guy should be at the front section of the line.

[-] avidamoeba@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 weeks ago

He's not the I in CHWTIA for no reason.

[-] NutWrench@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 weeks ago

Infosys founder Narayama Murthy has tripled down on his previous statements that 70-hour work weeks are what's needed in India and revealed he also thinks weekends were a mistake.

Oh look. It's this asshole again.
