Those Otaheiti Apples are so far from ripe that it's painful. They should be deep red, almost purple.

Ha ha. No, it's a tropical fruit with white flesh and a table tennis ball sized seed in the middle. The flesh is crunchy, fresh tasting and subtle both in sweetness and perfume. It's a very refreshing fruit but not as juicy as a watermelon.
