Where is Chief Kyle?

I'm aware it could just be an actor-is-unavailable thing, but anyone know what happened?

Curious to see how his character could have been developed, particularly after the whole "Not Chief Kyle, he's so mean!" comment from season one as well as the impact of the crewman sacrificing himself to save Kyle's life.

Here is the answer from the actor himself. Andre Dae Kim was busy filming Vampire Academy in Spain and could not return due to scheduling conflicts.

According to this article the actor left SNW and his character will be replaced by another transporter chief (scroll down to the end).

Ah, thanks! I had indeed noticed the new transporter chief this season, wasn't sure if Kyle was going to make a surprise come back or not.
