How many not-attack attacks are required until retaliation is on the table?
Best retaliation is more arms to Ukraine - a war that is already in progress and so you don't risk starting a new war.
They say once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, and three times is enemy action. Seems we're past that now.
We all know it was Russia. They'll never admit it and spout some bollocks about western conspiracy theories. Just seize all their ships and property. Anyone trading with them gets 30 years in the slammer.
Patton was right, we should have dealt with the problem in 1945.
Problem here is that these ships aren't Russia's vehicles. Eagle S, the one that most likely caused these damages, is registered to Cook Islands, and is owned by Dubain company. And then there is international maritime law, that among other things doesn't allow blockades.
If it wasn't for that pesky maritime law :-)
Denmark and Sweden should just close off lake NATO to all non nato shipping. And any non nato ship that is allowed will have coastguard personell onboard during their stay in lake NATO. The cost of the operation is levied as toll on the ships.
Or Military takes all ships causing damage as compensation.
Also a power cable Estlink 2 was cut. Finnish authorities have seized a vessel called Eagle S for likely having caused the damages. Finland's border guards were close by when it happened, and they saw that Eagle S's anchor was missing.
EDIT: YLE’s news about it in English: https://yle.fi/a/74-20133516
