I just listened to the BTB podcast on Reagan.
The reason Carter lost was because of the fact that he cared too much about "the gays".
Carter, a Christian preacher, lost to Reagan, who at the time had many gay friends but called them "immoral".
Could we actually make this happen? I would play the fuck out of a Doom where Jimmy Fucking Carter was reincarnated as the Doom Slayer.

The thing that gets me about this comic is that panels 2-5 are textbook demand-side economics.
