Oof, starting with fast monsters on the E1 secret level and no strafing available-- they're just asking for noobs to not access their site

You can hug the left wall. The monsters coming from the right don't shoot, so you are quite save there.

Isn't doom already solved by AI?

You can't "solve" Doom.

Also: when? Where? Do you mean when that "generative" AI imitateda playable doom? That's not the same as playing Doom, homie.

Given that this explicitly runs the Shareware release's first mission, you can just record and replay the "winning" keypresses like a tool assisted speedrun, no AI needed. I'm not sure if there's enough randomness in Doom to make killing the first 3 monsters in E1M1 something that could require different inputs due to randomness. My understanding is that Doom's replay system works because entering the same inputs on the same frames results in the same results from RNG every time.

Now if the dev cribbed code from OBLIGE to randomly generate the levels, or even just started from different areas in the levels of Shareware or FreeDoom, we'd have something even better.
