This perfectly captures the spirit of an early 2000s gaming magazine ad

[-] psmgx@lemmy.world 34 points 2 months ago

Aye was my exact thought. Something I'd see in a comic book

I miss good old fashioned photoshops not AI generated

[-] activ8r@sh.itjust.works 13 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm genuinely curious what makes you think this is AI. Feel like I've missed something.

Edit: you know what. Nevermind. I definitely missed something 😄

[-] amon@lemmy.world 20 points 2 months ago

It's not AI. Regular photoshops are so rare nowadays so it's nice for a change

Your comment made me want to compare it

Both drivers on the left-side are playing card games as well. (⊙_⊙)

That steam logo is not bad at all

[-] m0stlyharmless@lemm.ee 3 points 2 months ago

I love the Google Play banner with the distorted Apple logo.

The biggest gamble is the one where the kid plays in the middle of a 4 lane highway.

[-] Laser@feddit.org 25 points 2 months ago

He thought he had a 1 in 4 chance to not get hit

[-] MrMcGasion@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

Based on Wheel of Fortune also being 1 in 4, those are pretty good odds.

X3 Mul if Hit by a Tesla

[-] Moose@moose.best 5 points 2 months ago

2 in 4 if he had the dice.

[-] BigPotato@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago

There's a sidewalk on the left of the screen, by regulation a "highway" shouldn't have a sidewalk so therefore the kid is likely playing in a boulevard or something else with a dividing median.

Not a highway.

This is America, check the liscense plate dimensions.

This is yet another high speed 'stroad', a street with too many lanes, with speed limits at or approaching highway speeds, yet is right inside a residential area (townhouses or apartments on the left, park with sidewalk on the right), that has enough intersections to cause massive traffic during most hours of day, but not enough intersections to allow pedestrians to cross it without walking half a mile, and takes 30+ seconds to walk across at an actual walking pace.

[-] desktop_user@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 months ago

probably just a 4 lane one way street

[-] abbiistabbii@lemmy.blahaj.zone 31 points 2 months ago

This has all the feel of a 1999 magazine game ad.

[-] tfw_no_toiletpaper@lemmy.world 25 points 2 months ago

I play Balatro at work, I play it on transport, I play while walking, I play while shitting, while watching TV and if I could play while cooking, I would do it

[-] GroupNebula563@lemmy.world 15 points 2 months ago

I love how the copyright text just devolves into insanity the more you read it

[-] Hikermick@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

This dumb motherfucker

[-] ShaggySnacks@lemmy.myserv.one 7 points 2 months ago

Look, I had a good run going on. I gambled that the kid would survive being hit by my car.

[-] KingThrillgore@lemmy.ml 6 points 2 months ago

They absolutely should run this in some papers
