So basically what I'm asking is, can the encryption keys be recovered when you reset your phone? Also, is there any difference between using the settings menu to wipe, using remote wipe, and using the bootloader wipe?

Btw, I accidentally posted to the main android community again, I already deleted it but it didn't federate. Apologies for making you mods doing more work.

Unless they're hardware-based keys, encryption keys and auth tokens wiped in almost all circumstances, barring a skeleton key or expensive forensics operations.
