I will never get tired of this one. "I have to dance for it"

Do they stop letting you watch the show if you get it wrong? What purpose does this serve other than pissing people off

[-] undefined@lemmy.hogru.ch 44 points 2 months ago

If it happens to me I’ll immediately cancel and pirate over i2p just to spite them.

[-] Naich@lemmings.world 21 points 2 months ago

This is the correct response.

If I value a show/movie enough I’ll purchase it then rip the Blu-ray, but if it’s a show that’s only watchable by legal means over ad-supported streaming then fuck ‘em.

[-] gumball4933@lemm.ee 10 points 2 months ago

Why wait for it to happen to you personally?

I don’t really like the shit quality associated with pirating online; I resort to renting Blu-rays and dumping them to my NAS.

Then you’re not pirating the right stuff…..

…..

So edgy.

Yeah no, audio is easy because FLAC is everywhere but Blu-ray rips and the like are 99% of the time re-encoded and look like shit. Give me the BDMV or GTFO.

It's easy enough to find bluray repacks though?

[-] P1nkman@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

You need to give USENET a try.

[-] Stovetop@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago

I have no idea if this is the case since I don't use Hulu, but I'm guessing if you pick the wrong one they could make you watch another segment of the ad with the right answer to help correct you or something.

Some dick head came up with an idea and some high up numpty liked it so no one dared to say no?

[-] undefined@lemmy.hogru.ch 25 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I’ve never understood why people use Hulu out of all the streaming services.

[-] jewbacca117@lemmy.world 11 points 2 months ago

Futurama, It's Always Sunny, Letterkenny. Basically all my go to shows.

[-] Stovetop@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

Because families get it for Disney+ to let Moana/Spiderman/Elsa babysit their kids during the day and figure "Heck, why not add the extra little cost to get Hulu with it since we're already paying so much?"

It's a great thing that Disney was allowed to buy Fox under the blessing of the Trump FTC, isn't it?

[-] Nindelofocho@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

It’s included in my cell plan and ublock works on it

It begins with this and ends with unrepentant piracy. This is them saying "fuck you" to you, piracy is the best way of saying it back.

[-] SirSamuel@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

Waaayyyy ahead of you matey

[-] Soleos@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

Son, the beginning was so long ago that many people have no experience of before.
