But soy is also grown to feed cattle, so if you eat meat then you will kill even more of those cute critters. Never understood this reasoning, do they think cows are able to photosynthesise?

They genuinely believe that cows are all grass fed and don't know that even pasture raised cattle are, by vast majority, supplemented with or 'finished on' soy and corn.

My friend who brought up this exact same point when I brought up veganism before I was vegan, and is surprised every time we meet again that I'm still vegan.
