“everyone’s favorite alpha male president was against masks because it would ruin his makeup”

yep, ok, but drag queens are the real danger to society, got it.

Well yeah, they show that you can put makeup on and not look like a complete idiot.

And that whole thing like Gulliani leaking black fluid down his face.

And they've got the best make-up tutorials too.

[-] TechyDad@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Wait. Is that why the right is all up in arms about drag queens? They're just jealous of the great makeup skills your average drag queen has?

"His insecurity about his appearance only makes us like him more!"

Aggressively worthless behavior

Least surprising report of the last decade.

[-] jonne@infosec.pub 10 points 1 year ago

Pretty sure you can dig up a bunch of tweets from that time with people calling this exact same thing.

[-] mateomaui@reddthat.com 9 points 1 year ago

yep, I was one of those people

Ditto. It could not have been more obvious that he didn't want to wear a mask because it'd smudge his clown makeup. There was never a good reason for it. Not wanting to live in fear/appear weak was just the usual conservative spin for Trump's constant shitty behavior and leadership failures.

I remember reading this exact article back then

“It’s a vanity thing, I guess, with him,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi

That was a direct hit.

A true Alpha Republican male. Death before smeared makeup.

This news is as stupid as it is unsurprising.

We knew it at the time. This article appears in the October 19/26, 2020 issue. “As any woman can tell you, the masks smear makeup. The president is afraid of makeup stains on his mask and unsightly smears on his photographed face.” —letter to The New York Times from Sarah Crichton https://www.thenation.com/article/politics/trump-mask-orange-makeup/

as if he’s not always unsightly

[-] Bassman1805@lemmy.world 19 points 1 year ago

Sounds like a Blaze Foley song. "He's a real cowboy, with his makeup on"

Song is about Bush Sr but boy does it hold up.

I don’t care. Let’s not go back to 2015-2021 era where we lap up every detail about Trump. The guy needs to me made irrelevant by the justice department pronto.

[-] Boddhisatva@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago

Bronzer? Shouldn't someone have told him that it's orange? I guess orange is the new bronze.

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

That's so on-brand for this preening jackass.

[-] m3t00@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

what color did he use on Apprentice

[-] JustZ@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago

Is this what manly conservatives hated masks so much for, it smeared up their makeup?

[-] Alwaysfallingupyup@lemmy.world -1 points 1 year ago

And Biden rode a bike because he thought it was easier than walking up stairs...
