Try cleaning it with compressed air first. Might just be crud on the carbon brushes for the motor.

Judging by the fireworks show inside I would be questioning if the brushes even exist anymore or it’s just running on the springs

Good news is that carbon brushes are cheaper than a new drill

That drill costs like $25 bucks sooooooooo

Meh, I'd still give it a shot to look into fixing it.

At the very least as a learning exercise.

I'm a fan of fixing things and preventing stuff from finding their way into landfills when ever possible.

I’ve watched a tear down of one of these before, and actually just rewatched it and the brushes aren’t replaceable

Ah the lovely disposable tools, how I hate these so much.

Thank you for the info.

Doesn't mean shit. I got a $25 powered no name screw driver and I use it every time I gotta grab a screwdriver. For years. No issues with it.

Sadly most things are made to just die after a year and go into a landfill.

Just a bit of sparking from the brushes, you can just run it till it dies. Or replace the brushes which is easy and cheap.

Mine does exactly the same.
