The tariffs on China are still a go, right?
I haven't heard anything to the contrary and I've been trying to stay on top of this tariff fiasco
According to this Article China is retaliating so I assume they have gone into effect
Nah, China started retaliating before the Trump's deadline (with no goal...) arrived. It's perfectly possible that the US backpedaled on those too and China is retaliating it by inertia.
That's totally possible, I haven't seen any evidence that the US backpedaled on these though. Not saying they haven't just that I haven't seen anything and I'm far from knowing everything so take that as you will.
I have to wonder if the building industry didn’t crawl up Trumps ass and try to tear out his spleen on Canada tariffs.
Lumber going up 25-50% in response would bring development to a halt. We get a sizeable portion of our lumber from Canada. HGTV would probably have to shut down.
Oh, and the oil thing.
That’d be nice if it was actually what happened.
I’m not debating the idea that these tariffs were a limp dick scare tactic that got meager results, but it’s not like they got no results. Just functionally no results.
