Moscow meanwhile will not reciprocate

Lol if trump is "warming" to putin it's only because the lube has worn off.

[-] WhatThaFudge@lemmy.sdf.org 6 points 1 week ago

Warms to Putin? These headlines.. Orange clown has had the HOTS for Putin for years!

[-] futatorius@lemm.ee 1 points 1 week ago

Yeah, I don't think they could name a single thing Trump has done what was against Putin.

[-] sirspate@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 week ago

This and cutting funding to EI-ISAC is basically an invitation for Russia to hack the next election.

that's how "blue states will disappear".

any blue state with elections coming up should vet observers/security now and move to paper ballots only.

So it's only barely March and Trump is already basically bent over on the front steps of the Kremlin with his butt cheeks spread, shouting, "Take me daddy!"

I expected him to bend over for Putin, but even cynical as I am, I didn't expect him to do it so completely so quickly.

What's the downside? They're in power. And despite all the collateral damage, Republicans are still protecting him from oversight. He basically has most of the functional powers of a dictator, with only some resistance (currently) from the judiciary. Also, he openly talked about illegally staying in power for a third term, and has refused demands from the courts. I hope I'm wrong, but we're witnessing him and his sycophants consolidate power to never be held accountable again...

I need to look up the word "treason" again. This seems to match up.

[-] floofloof@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 week ago

It doesn't matter unless someone actually acts against him.

[-] Gr0mit@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Is your ammo stocked up because I wouldn't doubt a future where Drump declares martial law and asks Russia military for help deal with us “unruly Americans.” Shits getting dark.

[-] blakenong@lemmings.world 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

My bet is he bans gun and ammo sales. Probably in 2027 when he announces his third term. But, it’s probably a safe bet to start sooner than later.

I’d like to see more “lefty gun owner” resources. Like a YouTube channel where some hipster or drag queen reviews guns without wearing camo or talking about the second amendment.

How do you feel about the Ruger LCP 380 Auto (ACP)? I need a super compact CC for Nazi defense. I know it doesn’t pack the 9mm punch, but for $220, that’s a bargain, wouldn’t you say?

Gun owners are a little shaky on his AG pick.

And the funny thing is, when Putin will come to the White House, which will eventually happen, he will not speak a word of English, thank Trump for his commitment to a free northern hemisphere and make some veiled insults in Russian which Trump will not understand, nor will anybody have the guts to translate them to him. He will just stand there and smile while Putin takes the White House as one of his outposts.

Hasn’t trump also blocked all investigations into russian cybercrime in the US?

[-] Cocopanda@futurology.today 1 points 1 week ago

Glad to see the dude with Alcohol withdrawal and rapes women. Wants to stop defending this nation from one of its biggest enemies. He should do a /4hr stream to show the troops he’s not a drug addict that relies on his drug to not go through withdrawals. Show us Pete. You fucking pos rapist. I lived in Monterey when that shit went down. Wish I knew. I would have dragged his ass to the beach to teach him not to rape women.

U.S. halts offensive cyber operations against Moscow

Yes sure thing, the CIA just stopped working and everyone got home...

[-] Maeve@kbin.earth -1 points 1 week ago

So this is the first story I read about this that specified "offensive". Yes it's risky, but I don't see how we can be outraged at other states hacking into us when we are doing it to them, and doing it first. We have to stop escalating, and yes, nation states may exploit de-escalation. Perhaps if we could and will focus on defensive cybersec consistently, others may consider it.

[-] irreticent@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 week ago

That makes sense only if it'd apply to every nation, not just Russia. Us selecting only them for a reprieve shows favoritism.

[-] Maeve@kbin.earth 0 points 1 week ago

Sure. But it also serves as an experiment.

[-] cybersin@lemm.ee -1 points 1 week ago

People in this thread acting like it's OK for the US to try and hack the Kremlin, and that it isn't escalatory behavior. At all. Lol.

[-] Doorbook@lemmy.world -1 points 1 week ago

So why US had offensive cyber and information operation in the first. Are you telling me Russia cyber attack is the same as US cyber attack?
