Me at work tryimg to open STEP file or STL with Catia... "sorry, all licenses are currently unavailable".

Blender + FreeCAD which run despite SW installation restrictions on the work PC: " :) I've got you!"

[-] BCsven@lemmy.ca 3 points 10 months ago

Mayo is a good STL / STEP viewer too, if you don't need to translate, but want to view, save off a few parts, measure, grab screen shots, etc

Just use your package manager. No need for this zip file nonsense.

[-] Antagnostic@lemmy.world 19 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

That's what big package manager wants you to think‽

[-] honurash@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago

....where can I find this big package manager? For a friend..

[-] chaotic_altruist@lemm.ee 6 points 10 months ago

Hi there, I'm honurash's friend! Looking to hire a full time manager for my big package as it has become too cumbersome and time consuming as of late.

I keep seeing this. What is this from? The still frames, not the meme format.

The founder (2016). Good flick with Michael Keaton, about the McDonald's franchise history.

[-] kernelle@0d.gs 31 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

The context of the scene is Keaton's character ordered a burger and received* it in record time. He askes flabergasted "so where are the plates how should I eat it?" To which the clerk replies "right out of the bag!"

[-] Rubisco@slrpnk.net 11 points 10 months ago

Here's a trimmed clip of the scene from The Founder.

I think it's from "The Founder" about the guy who turned McDonald's into a national chain.

[-] BackgrndNoize@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

More like the crook who stole the company from under its founders, ruined their vision for it and further fucked them over just to satisfy his ego and greed

[-] neon_nova@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 10 months ago

Yes! This! It’s pretty sad when you think about it.

[-] Steamymoomilk@sh.itjust.works 17 points 10 months ago

No! No! It cant be that way. I want to spend hours screaming at my computer. Because fusion 360 is having problems finding my licence key!

Thats too easy, give me more difficultly Make canceling a painful process. Only 14 more emails and a USPS certified mail letter to go! Thanks adobe i love spending hours doing a simple task! (This is satirical)

[-] SoulWager@lemmy.ml 4 points 10 months ago

IMO, license and cloud bullshit is more trouble than just learning the quirks of FreeCAD.

[-] Steamymoomilk@sh.itjust.works 3 points 10 months ago

Its sadly for work and we use it for CAM

[-] hotshotgotrhymes@lemm.ee 3 points 10 months ago

I don't understand much of what you said, but the seething underlying anger is funny and relatable

./configure && make && sudo make install

As an amateur hobbyist, I am so glad I found out about docker with github projects. Holy shit made my life a lot easier.

[-] bennypr0fane@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 10 months ago

I don't get the meme though

[-] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

Meme is war. Its dog eat dog, rat eat rat. If my competitor were drowning I'd walk over and I'd put a meme right in his mouth.

[-] humiddragonslayer@lemm.ee 6 points 10 months ago

Fingers crossed it doesn't end the same way
