Stay inside, not want to risk getting taken by ICE for "existing", probably continue my dedicated Minecraft server I been working on, modpack is techopolis right now. Or maybe some more Factorio. Got to keep the brain busy to distract my self from the facism that is happening, you know?

I'm playing in a Magic the Gathering tournament on Saturday with 32 players, the biggest i've ever been in

[-] psyvibe@lemm.ee 3 points 4 months ago

Nice! What are the prizes?

[-] morgunkorn@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 4 months ago

Pauper staples for the top 8: DCI Promo Counterspells, Dust to Dusts (the Dark), Mental Notes (Judgement), Snuff Out (Mercadian Masques), Krark Clan Shamans (Mirrodin), Lotus Petals (Promo 30th Anniversary), Boosters, and goodies like sleeves, deckboxes, playmats, sets of tokens, vouchers to print full proxy decks

That seems like a good prize pool for a 20eur entry! Good luck

Best of luck! I'm pretty new to MtG but that sounds fun - what kind of deck are you running?

[-] morgunkorn@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Thank you! This is a Pauper tournament, so all cards in my deck are commons from throughout magic history. I play black-red-green called Jund Wildfire.

It tries to win through attacking with creatures from MH3 Writhing Chrysalis, Nyxborn Hydra, Refurbished Familiar, with spells to draw a lot of cards and get more lands into play.

And you, what decks and formats do you play?

[-] rayquetzalcoatl@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Oh I've heard of Pauper! That deck looks great, Nyxborn Hydra definitely seems scary 👀

I only play EDH at the moment, but I'm interested in trying other formats for sure. I play a white/blue precon called First Flight which I've slightly upgraded and tweaked to focus more on life gain, as well as a red/blue deck I've put together with Magnus The Red as commander, focusing on token creatures and dealing damage to all players whenever I cast spells! I'm pretty new to the game 😅

[-] morgunkorn@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 4 months ago

White-Blue flyers is sweet, I have fond memories of my Sephara, Sky's Blade standard deck. EDH is cool because you can really tweak slowly your decks. Other formats usually have their own fixed list and you need to invest a lot to make a complete deck. At least in Pauper the individual cards are pretty cheap, you can get a complete deck for the price of a single chase-mythic

[-] rayquetzalcoatl@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

Oh nice! Yeah I got lucky with Storm Herd once or twice and have sort of been gambling on hitting it every time I use First Flight 😅

Traveled to Washington DC to attend protests against this fascist bullshit we got going on.

Open invitation if anyone wants to come.

[-] SteelCoffee@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

Thank you for getting out there and making your voice heard!

Boardgames tonight at my sister's house. Mom's visiting my house tomorrow evening to see our newly finished kitchen. We're having Indian food. Excellent stuff happening.

[-] morgunkorn@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 4 months ago

Sounds fun, what boardgames do you like to play?

[-] some_dude@lemm.ee 7 points 4 months ago

Going to visit Ghent with a friend so she can charge her company for the hotel and restaurants

[-] Servais@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 4 months ago

Enjoy, Ghent is nice!

My birthday is tomorrow :-) So, planning to stuff my face with cake.

[-] CheeseToastie@lazysoci.al 2 points 4 months ago

Happy birthday!!! How's your day going?

[-] XTL@sopuli.xyz 5 points 4 months ago

Get some rest.

[-] Shimitar@downonthestreet.eu 4 points 4 months ago

Given the shitty weather forecasts i hope to be able to ride my road bicicle on sunday. Some 80km would be great, but i guess i will be luclky to go for 50km. As for saturday, maybe swimming pool and lots of stuff to fix at home.

[-] psyvibe@lemm.ee 4 points 4 months ago

Setting up a Pi Hole on my home network. I’ve never done it before so I have no idea if it will take long. Probably take the pug on a hike too. Oh, and playing monster hunter wilds.

[-] switchboard@lemm.ee 1 points 4 months ago

Let me know how it goes, I have been thinking about it on and off for years. Since Chrome stopped ad blockers, I switched to Firefox but it is just missing a few things that I enjoyed about chrome.

Also, how much did it cost?

[-] Plantfoodclock@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago

Unfortunately more work I need to catch up on for my research MA program. But it's just messing with some R code for analyses, which is much more preferable than doing any writing. Might bike to a cafe and work there for a change of scenery.

[-] compostgoblin@slrpnk.net 3 points 4 months ago

Play some Traveller with friends tomorrow, tidy around the apartment so it looks nice when my wife gets back from her trip, probably take my dog for a walk or two if the weather allows. If I’m feeling inspired, I want to print some zines on local foraging and go around putting them in Little Free Libraries. Should be pretty chill, and I’m not mad about that!

[-] furioussunshine@lemm.ee 3 points 4 months ago

Driving an hour to get some free compost and worms for my garden!

[-] Xed@lemm.ee 3 points 4 months ago

I got sick and it’s also been raining near me. I’ll just be watching movies and doodling

[-] PlanetOfOrd@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Work.

I'm working about 2-3 jobs these days, and none of them play to my strengths. You'd think I'd be able to make ends meet by working 60+ hours and living with roommates.

I'm also working on a side-project startup so I won't have to work everyday and I can actually--you know--have a life...and friends.

[-] CrystalJagger@lemm.ee 1 points 4 months ago

Work, work and work. Sadly weekends are my busiest days

[-] Hermit_Lailoken@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago

I work over the weekend.
