Does this have a word? (lemmy.dbzer0.com)
submitted 4 weeks ago by Krik@lemmy.dbzer0.com to c/asklemmy@lemmy.ml

Is there a (non-medical) word for the border/skin fold between butt and thigh?

I have a feeling there is one.

Gluteal fold

Edit: maybe outer-gluteal cleft if you wanted to be cute about it

[-] pmk@lemmy.sdf.org 34 points 4 weeks ago

This is the correct answer.

[-] Krik@lemmy.dbzer0.com 19 points 4 weeks ago

Yes, this seems to be the correct one. 👍

[-] smuuthbrane@sh.itjust.works 24 points 4 weeks ago

As opposed to the gluteal fissure, which is the ass crack.

[-] toynbee@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago

Here I thought that was the cleftal horizon.

In German it's called Arschbackenoberschenkelabtrennfalte

[-] NONE_dc@lemmy.world 67 points 4 weeks ago

"All words are made up."

[-] Botzo@lemmy.world 10 points 4 weeks ago

If I could imagine anything more German than a long compound word, it's a wikipedia article dedicated to exactly that thing.

Butt cleavage maybe? Undercheek?

[-] CanadaPlus@lemmy.sdf.org 24 points 4 weeks ago

Undercheek would be understood.

In pole dancing terms that's the gluteal crease or gluteal fold.

Medically the gluteal fold is the buttcrack.

[-] 100_kg_90_de_belin@feddit.it 6 points 3 weeks ago

In Italian we call it "sottochiappa"

[-] CanadaPlus@lemmy.sdf.org 5 points 4 weeks ago

Not that I've ever heard, but undercheek was a good suggestion. I'd probably go with "base part of the buttocks" unprompted.
