I love that he didn't even give a hint. The other person might have gone about teir day being happy to have helped.

[-] loutr@sh.itjust.works 78 points 6 days ago

Yeah that's a nice reaction, the other dude wasn't being a jerk so no need to make him feel bad about it.

"Hey, here's a useful thing that I recommend to people: "

It's basically a compliment

[-] arandomthought@sh.itjust.works 26 points 6 days ago

Absolutely!

[-] Gladaed@feddit.org 1 points 5 days ago

That's not always good. Maybe they just did not read the handle and assumed someone random asked, but didn't know they wanted this library. That's probably a good assumption, too.

[-] killeronthecorner@lemmy.world 52 points 6 days ago

[-] Flipper@feddit.org 63 points 6 days ago

[-] qarbone@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

I just had someone send me a link to that when I asked a question. Infuriating.

[-] MostlyBlindGamer@rblind.com 49 points 6 days ago

With enough zooming, even I can tell it’s the same profile picture. Wow.

[-] Bazoogle@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

Not to mention the identical user names. But idk, could be a different colinhacks.

[-] jaybone@lemmy.world 36 points 6 days ago

lol “strongly typed”, “loosely typed”.

I don’t even use variables anymore. Wake up sheeple.

[-] voodooattack@lemmy.world 15 points 6 days ago

I just use window["…"] to hold my variables.

[-] KindaABigDyl@programming.dev 6 points 6 days ago

So... pure functional programming w/ out state?

[-] MostlyBlindGamer@rblind.com 2 points 5 days ago

No, registers and bit-wise manipulation. In a Minecraft server running in the browser.

[-] fibojoly@sh.itjust.works 31 points 6 days ago

That's a whole lot more wholesome than most of what goes on in the Stack Overflow arenas.

[-] lilja@lemmy.ml 4 points 6 days ago

[-] Scoopta@programming.dev 2 points 6 days ago

Or just the usernames

[-] pixeltree@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 6 days ago

That's honestly a really nice interaction

[-] vane@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago

I liked typescript until I started working with people who like strict types.

[-] call_me_xale@lemmy.zip 2 points 6 days ago

What's wrong with strict types?

[-] rektdeckard@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago
[-] call_me_xale@lemmy.zip 0 points 5 days ago

Sigh. Guess I need the joke explained?

[-] rektdeckard@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago

It's the people who love to talk about strict types that tend to be the problem

[-] Tudsamfa@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago
