I once got 46 pages into an erotic STNG fan fiction thing. It's one s x scene away from being done. I've been told it's very hot, and that is very confusing. It also features brief interludes with a panel hosted by Canadian hockey legend Don Cherry, Mario Lopez, and Kristen Whig for some reason.

I can send it to you and you can finish it for me.

Try reading manga using kotatsu. You lose nothing, very simple to get started, should be fun

What is your funniest story as a Tire and Lube tech?

All I could think of 🤣

[-] observantTrapezium@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 day ago

My thoughts exactly 😂

Good luck! Hope you get better soon. Have a blurry photo of a cat for companionship. Cat

Maybe that worked. I'm not so good with uploading in comments.

[-] Professorozone@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

You can download a stop animation app to your phone and then make a little movie with whatever you have on you hospital table.

You're welcome.

[-] bumblebird@lemm.ee 2 points 19 hours ago

if you do this (and i sincerely hope you do): please post what you come up with.

If you really have time, find a research project on Zooniverse and help out.

Pick up a new language. A whole language in the course of a normal hospital stage is not really plausible, so narrow the goals. Like only learn how to swear in another language, say. Or learn how to say all the sexual acts you can think of in another language fluently.

This is what Steam Deck is for.

[-] strawberry@kbin.earth 9 points 1 day ago

not everyone has $500 to drop on a game console

[-] eezeebee@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 day ago

You mentioned having your phone in a another comment, so I'll suggest you look into emulation. SNES and Gameboy (various generations) work pretty well if you can get used to not having physical buttons.

  1. So, um, how’s it going?
  2. What would you normally be doing right now?
  3. What hobbies do you have?
  4. How long are you going to be the hospital?
  5. Any cute nurses you can throw my way?
[-] ZDL@ttrpg.network 1 points 1 day ago

Pick up a solo RPG and start playing when you get bored.

[-] strawberry@kbin.earth 1 points 1 day ago

reccomendations? mobile only

[-] ZDL@ttrpg.network 1 points 1 day ago

No, I meant real RPGs, not the computerized abominations. Pencil, paper, optionally a randomizer, and imagination.

[-] hyena@lemm.ee 2 points 1 day ago

Read a book!

RULES (updated 01/22/25)

  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling. To be concise, disrespect is defined by escalation.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible. You won't be punished for trying.
  3. Avoid controversial topics (politics or societal debates come to mind, though we are not saying not to talk about anything that resembles these). There's a guide in the protocol book offered as a mod model that can be used for that; it's vague until you realize it was made for things like the rule in question. At least four purple answers must apply to a "controversial" message for it to be allowed.
  4. Keep it clean and SFW: No illegal content or anything gross and inappropriate. A rule of thumb is if a recording of a conversation put on another platform would get someone a COPPA violation response, that exact exchange should be avoided when possible.
  5. No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc. The chart redirected to above applies to spam material as well, which is one of the reasons its wording is vague, as it applies to a few things. Again, a "spammy" message must be applicable to four purple answers before it's allowed.
  6. Respect privacy as well as truth: Don’t ask for or share any personal information or slander anyone. A rule of thumb is if something is enough info to go by that it "would be a copyright violation if the info was art" as another group put it, or that it alone can be used to narrow someone down to 150 physical humans (Dunbar's Number) or less, it's considered an excess breach of privacy. Slander is defined by intentional utilitarian misguidance at the expense (positive or negative) of a sentient entity. This often links back to or mixes with rule one, which implies, for example, that even something that is true can still amount to what slander is trying to achieve, and that will be looked down upon.
