What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I have a PhD in online arguments, and I’ve been involved in numerous anonymous arguments with internet strangers, and I have won over 300 arguments online.

Democracies and Republics are bad because Democratic People's Republic of Korea is proof that it's bad.

I'm male aged 19-22, I have an older brother about 4-5 years older (giving age ranges for better anonymity). Relationship is... not good (read: it's terrible, horrifyingly terrible, arch-nemesis). How about you?

Why? Because if the item turns out to be damaged or missing, you'll have an easier time when attempting to dispute charges with seller or financial institution.

Not just for packages, but any thing you buy at a store, you should just film yourself when opening them so you have evidence in case anything goes wrong.

Also secondary LPT related to this topic: In some countries (in the USA at least), using a credit card has better consumer protections than a debit card. Just make sure to pay off the balance at the end of the month so you don't incur interest.

I just got my package of new earphones from Best Buy, and the box was fucking empty. I mean there is the box and instruction manuals and charging cable, but the actual earphones aren't there. They've used Shipt (which is like a doordash but for packages) but the box was inside another layer of packaging which was supposedly sealed before the delivery person got it so I'm leaning towards it being store employee theft, or someone returned an empty box and the employees didn't verify it.

I'll be contacting Bestbuy and Credit Card issuer as soon as customer support hours start.

I've literally never lost a package, I'm just so, annoyed. The money will probably be back, but like dude I just wanna listen to some music. Ugh... I guess phone speakers will have to do for now.

PSA: Record a video when opening packages just in case you need to file a dispute. I didn't but I don't think there's gonna be an issue since these things rarely happen to me and disputes are rarely filed.

So have you ever been defrauded?

Update: I used the customer support chat and told BestBuy about it, and they gave me a replacement, this time I picked it up at the store and opened the box right in front of the employee just to be safe. Nothing was missing this time. 😀

Is Modlog Broken? (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/822979

For the past 2 days or so, I tried viewing modlogs for several instances and the loading spins forever.

Now I just checked the mod logs and the logs were purged?

What the hell is going on?

I'm conviced those people aren't real and everyone is in fact secretly using an ad blocker.

I mean, how do you not get annoyed with so much ads? People are probabaly lying in surveys to trick youtube to not blocking adblockers.

Its 2050, local drives are outlawed. All devices have no writable storage and only a read only memory containing the basic os needed to connect to "the cloud". In order to use your device, you need to pay a monthly subscription, to save your files, you need to pay a even higher subscription depending on your storage desires. If your cloud account has "undesirable" content, it is removed from your account without warning. If you stop paying your subscription, all data is immediately removed. All content you want to see is temporarily loaded to ram and is purged after you consume it. Ads require detection of your eyes looking at the display to progress. Biometric verification is required to use your device and any given device is tied to a person's identity, can only be used by that person, and must be surrendered when no longer wanted. Welcome to the future!
