Just stop making it. The average person doesn't get to choose how much plastic is in the production process for their items. We need laws to stop mega corporations destroying the planet for a tiny bit more profit.

I did that. They were somehow still surprised when I proposed. Apparently measuring their ring finger was not enough of a hint.

The correct answer is sleep. Brain will disagree with that too.

Now look at trucks (18 wheelers) and try to decide if they're cheaper than trains when factoring in infrastructure maintenance.

So many people don't read the most obvious "no entry" signs. I don't think they'll notice most advertising.

I wonder if signs have become less effective as a result of advertising. Have people become desensitized to things trying to grab their attention?

Diagnosed as an adult

My parents tried punishments and rewards to get me to do my homework. Neither worked. They never considered that I was telling the truth when I said "I can't do that". No matter how hard I tried, there were some simple things that I just couldn't do. (I did get an apology as an adult when they finally had the missing information).

On the other hand, I was so good at the other subjects that I didn't have to study or even try until I got to higher education, then I didn't know how and failed badly.

Diagnosing early can help with getting access to medication later in life. Medication can be helpful with controlling focus, but be aware that children often don't have the vocabulary to tell you that the medication has uncomfortable sides effects, so you'll need to be aware of them (and consult a professional - not just a random internet person).

ADHD isn't an attention deficit disorder, it's an attention regulation disorder. Hyperfocus is just as common as a lack of focus, and it's not possible to force a hyperfocus or even direct it on the correct task. It is possible to do a task that's different from the current hyperfocus, but it takes a lot of energy.

Be aware of burnout, work with the ADHD not against it where possible, but keep in mind that sometimes things are just going to be difficult.

You seem to care, and know where to ask for help. You'll do fine.

Edit: I would love to give you tips for how to get daily tasks done, but my partner still has to remind me to eat some days. If you ever find out, please let me know.

The Government trying to prevent trans people from using the "wrong" bathroom.

They claimed it was to protect women, but really it just hurts trans people and women by allowing strangers to demand women prove their gender.

The mouse stays in one location with grippy feet and the trackball moves the cursor. There is no sensor for mouse movement. It does take a while to get used to.

The reason I chose it was that I didn't have enough desk space to move a mouse. I barely even had enough space to put the mouse. Now that I've moved house, I just like the novelty. It's not as accurate as a regular mouse.

I would love a mouse that could do both regular movement and trackball movement so I could have 4 axis inputs. Sadly, I haven't found any like that.

South Australia has run into this problem and implemented a solution.

When the solar exports in a section of the grid exceeds the local transformer's limits, a signal is sent to all of the inverters in that section to limit the export rate. The same signal can be send to all solar inverters in South Australia if the entire grid has too much renewable energy.

This signal only limits the export to the grid, so the homeowner can always use their own solar power first. The permitted export is guaranteed to be between 1.5kW and 10kW per phase.

The was a minor oversight during implementation. Homeowners on wholesale pricing would often curtail or switch off their solar inverters if the prices went negative. If the grid operator sent a signal to reduce the export rate, it would override the homeowner's command and force a 1.5kW export during negative pricing (costing the homeowner to export). No-one considered that anyone might not want to export solar all of the time.

I can find valid results with Kagi 90% of the time compared to about 40% with Google. There are some things I was been looking for using Google for several years without success that turn up as the top result on Kagi.

It just works.

I was looking up my symptoms and google suggested that I could have been in a car crash or mauled by a bear.
I don't remember either of those happening, so I must have memory loss too.
