I think survivorship bias plays into it as well. Yeah, most the stuff on the radio today is kinda meh. Most the stuff on the radio in those days was kinda meh too. All the meh songs got forgotten, and you only remember the bangers. You've already seen it happen to 00s music and we're watching it happen with the 10s.

But yeah, it's wild how many people look at how accessible different types of music are now and just... don't go looking.

Turns out when you tell kids that weed is just as bad as crack, they start wondering "what else did they lie about" when they figure out weed is fine.

Not directly related to income tax, but I'm a big believer in having property taxed on an exponential scale. Start off quite low for your first property, a vacation home is still reasonable, but by the time you're much past that it becomes completely unreasonable to keep buying properties. Add a hefty multiplier for empty units on top of that, and you'd go a long way to fixing the issue with property hoarding.

I've said it from the beginning and frankly I don't think people realize how true it is. They were incredibly lucky that a mob of people actively attacking congress wasn't shot dead to a man.

Not that I think that would have actually been the best outcome, frankly I think that would have started an outright civil war and nobody wins that (not to mention that many innocent people almost certainly would have been caught up in it in the moment itself. But it very, very easily could have been.

Eh, completely unpreventable things such as bit flips have caused weird things in an election before, so it's not exactly unreasonable to call for a recount when the margin is so small.

Obviously it's incredibly unlikely to change though, and is a perfect example of why individual votes do matter.

Not sure where you pulled 8000lbs from, even a fully speced out expedition isn't going to be 6000lbs. Most non full sized ones, especially ones like the CRV or escape or something are under 4,000lbs. A model 3 weighs more than the majority of those smaller SUVs.

Don't try to take this as any sort of pro-suv or anti-ev message, quite the opposite. Spouting incorrect bullshit makes people less likely to believe the actual facts, such as the increase of SUVs and trucks quite literally killing us.
